• The coefficient of friction (resistance to slipping) is greater than 0.5
• Spills on the surface bead-up so they are more visible 
• Any surface can be slippery if dirty
• Most slips occur from sliding on the spilled material not the floor surface itself
• Use of walk off-matts prior to entering the floor help keep it clean
